Class Descriptions
Reformer - Fundamentals
This class provides detailed awareness of the Pilates movement fundamentals on the reformer apparatus. It is a great place to start if you're new to the reformer, returning from an injury or want to refine awareness of your fundamentals at a meaningful pace. We focus on building postural awareness, breathing to support the pelvis and lengthen the spine, as well as finding precision in spinal mechanics and shoulder girdle organization. Moderately paced, our Reformer Fundamentals Class sets a strong and grounded foundation from which to build an intelligent and aligned movement practice.
Reformer - Beginner/Intermediate
This class is designed for students with established experience on the Pilates reformer. Come work your precision, coordination, strength and flexibility in a fun and approachable group environment. Building upon our movement Fundamentals, we challenge a fluid pace, united by breath. This class is a key staple in any movement practice. Small class sizes allow us to teach to your level whether you’re new to Pilates or a seasoned mover.
Reformer - Intermediate
This class is designed for students with established experience on the Pilates reformer and builds upon our Beg/Int repertoire. We’ll play with additional endurance, coordination, choreographic and breathwork challenges while maintaining the flow and support that you know and love.
Reformer - Intermediate/Advanced
This class is designed for students with considerable experience on the Pilates reformer. It will dynamically challenge your range, strength, endurance and rhythm. In addition to working all Pilates Fundamentals and Principles, we'll highlight a sense of artistry and power. Students must be able to maintain dynamic class flow, execute all spinal mechanics and have no contraindicating injuries. Prerequisites: Beg/Int Reformer group class experience and/or teacher approval.
Spine Corrector & Small Apparatus
The Spine Corrector or small barrel was designed by Joseph Pilates to mobilize and strengthen the spine in all planes of motion. Guided by breath, we utilize the Spine Corrector to inform fluid spinal articulation, core engagement and pelvic stability for a full body integrated movement experience. Your hips and posture will thank you! Other small apparatus are incorporated such as the Foam Roller, Magic Circle, Fletcher Towel and Barre.
Mindful Mat
Mindful Mat is a 50-minute mat practice rooted in Fletcher Pilates Fundamentals and Percussive Breath. Expect a thoughtful sequence of exercises designed to challenge your whole body and develop healthier movement patterns that will directly affect how you move through your daily life. Extra intention is given to spinal mobility, core support, balance and awareness. No Prerequisites necessary.
Matwork - Intermediate
Our limited edition Intermediate Matwork class takes a workshop style approach to the classical Pilates Matwork. It focuses on building the endurance, centering and organization required to eventually progress through all of the Matwork repertoire. This class is designed with Matwork Teacher Trainees in mind but accessible for any regularly practicing Pilates fan.
Foam Roller
Our Foam Roller class is a movement experience supporting fluidity and ease throughout the entire body. It combines elements of myofascial release work, self massage, balance and Pilates exercises on the roller. These modalities highlight mobilizing and hydrating our connective tissue as well as spinal articulation, hip and foot mobility, and breathwork. You’ll leave with a deeper connection to your body, increased vitality and tools to incorporate into your self practice.
